The St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences is a non-government organization dedicated to education and research on large rivers and their associated ecosystems. It serves as a leader in environmental research, education and community action on the St. Lawrence River by partnering with local stakeholders, government, the City of Cornwall and the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne on research programs involving related activities such as mentoring students, sharing research outcomes, collaborating with partners and participating in associated social and government policy debates.

Board Information
Meetings are held quarterly, or at the call of the Chair. All meetings are held at the St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences office, 2 St. Lawrence Drive, Cornwall.
City representation on the Institute's Board of Directors is comprised of one Member of Council.
