The Eastern Ontario Health Unit Board of Health is responsible for identifying minimum standards relating to public health programs and services, for understanding health needs and the interventions that can impact positively on these needs, and which roles are most appropriate for and within the achievable capacity of Ontario's boards of health.

The Board of Health is an upper decisional body and is responsible for budget approval.

Board Information

Meetings are held monthly on the first Thursday of the month except for summer. All meetings take place at the Health Unit, 1000 Pitt Street (occasionally at a satellite office).

The Board is comprised of up to eleven members, five of whom are provincially appointed.  Of the remaining members, two are appointed for the Counties of Prescott-Russell; two for the Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and two members of Council serving as Council representatives for the City of Cornwall.
